We are proud to announce the new singer, Gabriele Grilli. He is known with the monicker "Nightcomer" when he recorded the debut album of the epic metallers Doomsword. Gabriele is a great talent, with a powerful voice , melodic and theatrical that sometime can remember the best performace of Bruce Dickinson but with is own incredible personality. Special thanks to Alessandro Del Vecchio, from Fury N Grace, the other Gabriele's band. We can't wait to begin to work with him to create an unforgettable new album ! If you are just curious about his voice you can download 3 samples, one is the extracted from Doomsword's debut album, the song is entitled "One Eyed God" , the second one is taken from the trial he did to become Thy Majestie's singer and the third is a little surprise that Gabriele did for us , an acoustic version of a piece of "Through the Bridge of Spears" , it 's an home-recording but it's worth a listen ! 1- Gabriele-Doomsword : http://www.thymajestie.com/mp3/Doomsword-Lele.mp3 2-Gabriele-Echoes : http://www.thymajestie.com/mp3/Echoes-Lele.mp3 3- Acoustic-Bridge : http://www.thymajestie.com/mp3/acoustic-bridge.wav 18th November 2003 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dario Grillo left ! Due to personal reasons Dario is no more the singer of Thy Majestie and he'll follow his soloist career. New singer will be announced soon , stay tuned! The mini will contain the song "Echoes of War", "Hywelbane", a very short guitar intro, and two songs featured as bonus tracks in Thy Majestie's japanese and brazilian previous release : "Facing the beast" and a cover of Stryper's "In God We Trust".

"King of Fools" is the title cut of EDGUY's new EP, due on February 2 through Nuclear Blast Records. In addition to "King of Fools", the five-song effort will contain a 15-minute "making of" video clip (for Macintosh & PC) plus several exclusive cuts that will not appear on the band's forthcoming full-length album, "Hellfire Club", due on March 15. The follow-up to 2001's "Mandrake", "Hellfire Club" was produced by EDGUY and Norman Meiritz, with additional assistance from Sascha Paeth (RHAPSODY, ANGRA), who was responsible for the drum sound on the album. The final mix took place at the famous Finnvox Studios (NIGHTWISH, STRATOVARIUS) in Helsinki, Finland. As previously reported, EDGUY's "secret" gig at Cologne's Underground club on January 21 was recorded for broadcast on the WDR "Rockaplast" show the night of March 21/22. The group's complete set list for the concert was as follows: 01. Tears of a Mandrake 02. Fallen Angels 03. Lavatory Lovemachine 04. Painting On The Wall 05. Land of a Miracle 06. King of Fools 07. Save Us Now 08. Scarlet Rose 09. Avantasia 10. Out Of Control

"[...] In addition to that, bathory.se can reveal that the working title for the next BATHORY album apparently is "Dra Ballen i Gruset Grabbar". Whether that will also be its proper title eventually, we leave to anybody to decide for themselves. It appears though, that album cover artwork and layout ideas have taken shape and all that remains now is for BATHORY's 12th album to actually be recorded. The plan is for BATHORY to enter the studio in early spring." source: http://www.bathory.se

Legendary Florida death metallers OBITUARY are in the process of reforming with a view towards releasing a new CD in late 2004 or early 2005. "[Drummer] Donald [Tardy], [guitarist] Allen [West] and I have been working on some new stuff and are thinking about a new album," singer John Tardy told BLABBERMOUTH.NET. "We are just getting started and I know [Donald] has talked to [ex-OBITUARY guitarist] Trevor [Peres] about it, too. Right now we have no timeline or record deal set up, but we are writing songs. If all goes well, [the reunion] would be with all 'original' members [John, Donald, Allen, Trevor and bassist Frank Watkins]." Although the reformed OBITUARY would likely perform select live shows before and after the recording of a new studio album, there is no truth to the reports that the band will make an appearance at the Sun N' Steel festival in Tampa in early March. "I don't know anything about a Sun N' Steel show...never heard of it," John said. Formed in 1984 as EXECUTIONER (later shortened to XECUTIONER), OBITUARY are widely considered to be one of the most influential and groundbreaking bands in the death metal genre. After releasing several successful albums in the late Eighties/early Nineties (including the classic 1989 debut "Slowly We Rot" and its equally punishing 1990 follow-up, "Cause of Death"), the band announced their breakup, with John Tardy's disinterest in touring apparently a major factor, according to the Internet heavy metal encyclopedia BNR Metal Pages. Trevor Peres has since started CATASTROPHIC, while Donald Tardy joined Andrew W.K.'s band some time ago. souce: blabbermouth.net

Finland's SINERGY will enter the studio in the spring to begin recording their fourth full-length album, tentatively due in late 2004 through Nuclear Blast Records. "We actually have the majority of [the new album] written now, but we haven't actually been able to rehearse most of the songs yet with the whole line-up due to everyone's different schedules," singer Kimberly Goss said in an online posting. "I can tell you as of now myself, [guitarist] Alexi [Laiho], and [guitarist] Roope [Latvala] have written about 3 songs each. Some of them still have to be worked on, so perhaps the end result will be that more riffs are contributed from and/or changed by other members, therefore not making the song 100% mine, or Alexi's, or Roope's. This is the way we've always written. If you look at the songwriting credits on our previous albums, you'll see many songs that were written by more than one band member, and others that were written solely by just one of us. I just got off the phone with all the guys and we'll be starting some hardcore rehearsal sessions this week and continue until all the song arrangements are completed. The album will be recorded in the spring. Exact dates are not confirmed, but we should know very soon."

Finland's STRATOVARIUS have announced the addition of a new singer and drummer to the group's ranks. The following is the band's official statement on the matter: "New vocalist for STRATOVARIUS is called 'Miss K' -K for Katerina-(http://www.stratovarius.com/index2.php?section=vocalist_missk) = photos). "The vocal talents of this sultry Finnish lady vary from raunchy rock to classical operatic. Her voice range is over 3 octaves and she is capable of transforming STRATOVARIUS sound to something unique, something that has never been heard in Metal before. "She is 30 years old and has a background in gymnastics, where she has twice become a Finnish Champion, and in acting. "She has until now been singing in some local bands and has done over 200 gigs. "Drummer for the next album will be Anders Johansson, the brother of [keyboardist] Jens Johansson. "After selling over 1 500 000 copies of their previous records, STRATOVARIUS is now ready to take the next step in their career. "The band will enter the studio, a secret place, in May to record 11th studio album, which has a working title 'PopKiller'. "The album is due February 2005 followed up by massive World Tour. "In legal news, Sanctuary Records is asking Timo Tolkki to pay back 1 Million Euros from the recording agreement advance. Tolkki refuses to pay it, and comments: 'They have sent me a notification and are asking me to pay that amount back. Their position is that the agreement was for the old line up. My legal staff doesn't interpret the agreement this way, and have advised me not to agree to this demand. It means that we might be going to court in Berlin, but I am confident I will win this case and that justice will prevail.'

Finnish folk-inspired black metalers FINNTROLL will be issuing a five-song EP, "Trollhammaren", on March 15 through Century Media Records, to be followed by the group's new full-length album, "Nattfödd", on April 19. Both records were recorded and mixed at Sundicoop Studio in Savonlinna, Finland in November 2003 by Tuomo Valtonen and were produced by keyboardist Trollhorn. Mastering duties were handled by Mika Jussila at Finnvox Studios in Helsinki. As on their previous records, the band successfully combines black metal with very melodic folk elements and humppa, a kind of polka, in such a powerful and highly entertaining way that even the hardest of metalheads are pleased to join the dance. And this time around, just about the album's release date, the band will hit the European roads again to kick some serious ass in the clubs together with fellow Finns ENSIFERUM and THE WAKE. "Nattfödd" track listing: 01. Vindfärd / Människopesten 02. Eliytres 03. Fiskarens Fiende 04. Trollhammaren 05. Nattfödd 06. Ursvamp 07. Marknadsvisan 08. Det Iskalla Trollblod 09. Grottans Barn 10. Vocalist Jani Lane has officially left WARRANT to pursue a solo career. "This comes to us as no surprise," stated WARRANT bassist Jerry Dixon in an official press release. "We always figured someday he would want to go after a solo career and today is that day." The remaining members of the band will continue to compose, play and tour under the name WARRANT. "We wish [Jani] the very best in all aspects of his life," said guitarist Erik Turner. "The band is very excited about new possibilities and some fresh blood. Maybe even a new record." "We have always wanted to get back to what got us here in the first place," explained Dixon. "That includes putting the moves back on stage, playing the old songs people beg us to play and putting some much needed TLC back into the band. We are now looking for a new party-host, we want someone that can enhance what WARRANT already is, not change it. Again we wish Jani Lane all the best and look forward with much excitement of a new and improved WARRANT in 2004."

Irish folk metal band CRUACHAN have pushed back the release date of their fourth full-length album, "Pagan" (Karmageddon Media), to April 5. No reason was given for the delay. "Pagan" was recorded and mixed at Radio Na Life Studios in Dublin, Ireland with producer Al Cowen and is the follow-up to last year's "Folk-Lore". The band recorded a total of 15 songs, of which 13 will end up on the final album and the remaining songs will be used as bonus-material. Among the tracks set to appear on the CD are "Michael Collins", "The Gael", "The March to Cluain Tairbh", "Viking Slayer" and "1014 A.D." Cover artwork for "Pagan" was created by John Howe, the leading JRR Tolkien illustrator and the conceptual artist from "The Lord of the Rings" movies.
