KREATOR frontman Mille Petrozza has posted the following message on the band's official web site: "Dear friends. Just came back from Romania, very cool show, fantastic audience! This was definitely the last show of the Violent Revolution tour and I want to thank all of you for making 2003 another great year in the history of the band! "In January we will start the rehearsals for the new record. [Producer] Andy Sneap and his studio in Nottingham/UK is booked for May. "The new stuff sounds like a mix between 'Violent Revolution' and 'Pleasure to Kill'! Up to now, I have written 9 songs, some are already arranged and ready to go, others are still fragments. There'll be a couple of tunes that are longer than 7 minutes and have wicked parts an tempo changes, next to 4-minute songs full of hate and brutality!

MY DYING BRIDE have set "Songs Of Darkness, Words Of Light" as the title for their eighth studio album, due on February 16, 2004 through Peaceville Records. The follow-up to 2001's "The Dreadful Hours" was recorded and mixed at Academy Studio in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire with producer Mags and is said to "[echo] their crowning early '90s album, 'Like Gods Of The Sun', bringing with it a light and shade writing process which has thrown up possibly their most commercial tune to date, the graceful 'My Wine In Silence'." MY DYING BRIDE are currently working on a promotional video for the track "The Price Of Beauty" with director Andy Green, who was responsible for the artwork on the new CD. In addition, the group filmed their Nov. 2 sell-out show at the Hof ter Lo in Antwerp, Belgium for their second full-length DVD, tentatively slated for a spring 2004 release. Two low-quality samples from "Songs Of Darkness, Words Of Light" (view cover artwork here) are currently available for download from the Peaceville web site: 01. My Wine In Silence (mp3) 02. Italy's THY MAJESTIE have announced the addition of vocalist Gabriele Grilli to the group's ranks. Gabriele, who went by the moniker Nightcomer when he appeared on the debut album from the epic metallers DOOMSWORD, "is a great talent, with a powerful voice, melodic and theatrical that sometime [is reminiscent of] the best performance [from] Bruce Dickinson but with is own incredible personality," the band said in an official statement. Samples of Gabriele's vocals can be downloaded from the group's official web site: Sample#1, Sample#2, Sample#3. According to the group, the first sample "is extracted from DOOMSWORD's debut album, the song is entitled 'One Eyed God', the second one is taken from the trial he did to become THY MAJESTIE's singer and the third is a little surprise that Gabriele did for us, an acoustic version of a piece of 'Through the Bridge of Spears', it 's a home-recording but it's worth a listen." THY MAJESTIE recently announced their split with Scarlet Records, who released their last studio album, "Hastings 1066" (2002).
Former THEATRE OF TRAGEDY singer Liv Kristine is currently involved with several projects. In addition to completing work on the debut album from LEAVES' EYES (which also features members of the German band ATROCITY), titled "Lovelorn" (due on May 24, 2004 through Austria's Napalm Records), she has contributed lead vocals to the second INFINITY album, the project of the Argentine musician Beto Vazquez, which will be released in Europe through Drakkar Records/BMG. Dutch gothic/atmospheric doom metal group AFTER FOREVER have set "Invisible Circles" as the title for their new full-length album, due in late March through Transmission Records. The group's recently released EP, "Exordium", entered the Dutch Album chart at position No. 56 and has since dropped down to No. 74 (view the whole chart here). Finland's STRATOVARIUS have officially parted ways with vocalist Timo Kotipelto and drummer Jörg Michael. "Due to irrevocable and massive difficulties between the band leader Timo Tolkki and me, it has been agreed that this is the best thing to do to preserve at least some of the integrity the band used to have," Kotipelto said, according to the band's web site. "I will now fully concentrate on my solo album and I am convinced that this is the best way for me." Jörg Michael says that his priorities lie elsewhere at the moment, but that the suddenly escalating trouble in the band is one of the main reasons he doesn't want to play in STRATOVARIUS anymore. "I think this is the beginning of new era for STRATOVARIUS and that the future looks bright and promising," guitarist/leader Timo Tolkki commented. "I have composed some of my best songs during the last month. If anything good comes out of this, then I guess it will be the emotions I have managed to channel into new songs about this situation, which has been very heavy for all of us. I have been having quite bad mental problems lately, but I feel better now due to anti-depressive medication my therapist has prescribed me." According to the group's booking agent, Continental Concerts, the current line-up is "100% certain" to fulfill all its obligations regarding festival dates next year even though there is a lot of simmering hate waiting to boil over. Tolkki is currently talking to a German singer and a Finnish drummer about replacing Kotipelto and Michael, but he stresses that absolutely nothing is confirmed at this point. He adds that he is actively looking for replacements
