Saw over at The Metal Gospel (and www.helloween.org) that on August 23rd 2001, WBWC 88.3 FM in Cleveland / Ohio will present the "Helloween Marathon": From 7am EST until 1am EST., which is 1pm CET until 7am CET, those guys are playing Helloween album tracks, rare b-sides, live stuff, and solo/side project material. Furthermore they'll have various members of the band on at different times during the day. If you now think "well, that's a great thing, but I don't live in or near Cleveland" - no problem, you can access the marathon over the internet at: http://www.bw.edu/~wbwc/listen.html

There were rumors of a possible split of Voivod. Hopefully Century Media has denied them recently but not the ones concerning a change of line-up. For the moment, we don't know who's leaving and who's joining Voivod.

Anneke and the band are working on their next album. It seems that there will be 12 songs on it. The release date is still unknown. They have to work more on the tracks to add some more elements so few chances it will be released in 2001.

A Skyclad Best-of ("History lessens") will be released at the end of this month by Massacre Records. Hmmm... seems like the label wants to gain some quick money from the Skyclad/Martin split... edit Matze: "History lessens" will NOT feature any new and/or unreleased song! :(

Therion's new album "Secret of the Runes" which will be out around October 2001.
The author of "Hitchhyker's Guide To The Galaxy" is now hitchhiking the Otherworlds himself since Friday, May 11th after a sudden heart attack. Douglas Adams was currently nagotiating for the film version of the "Guide" with Disney. He will be very missed...
It seems that the band will release a new cd in July. Few details known yet, but it is likely that it will be a remake of old songs with the new line-up. More details to come if confirmed...

It's official now, Benjamin Richter is no longer vocalist of the german darkwave metal band Evereve. His replacement has been found in Keyboarder/songwriter/leader "MZ Eve 51" (Martin Zeissl). He has taken over Ben's position a little while ago before the sessions for "E-Mania" started.
Seen on this official Cruachan site : "We will soon be advertising to find someone to join our ranks because our guest keyboard player Dennis has too many other projects to commit to touring etc. We still do not know exactly what we need (guitarist or keyboard player), when we have decided we will put adds around Dublin and an add on the site."
A bunch of bands are in studio. Prepare your pennies... :-) SONATA ARCTICA : The release date of "Wolf & Raven" is scheduled on the 21st May. SINERGY : The 3rd Sinergy album will be intitled, "Suicide By My Side". The Album is to be released January 14th 2002. GAMMA RAY : Gamma Ray's awaited new opus will be called "No World Order". The album will be the first to be released on Metal-Is Records and will be in the CD stores on Monday September 10th. ANATHEMA : "A FINE DAY TO EXIT" will probably feature all 11 tracks. Release date to be announced soon. EVEREVE : Official release of "E-Mania" will be on the 11th of June '01. EDGUY : Edguy's "MANDRAKE" to be released September 24th. ICED EARTH : Century Media now lists June 18th, 2001 as the European release date for "Horror Show". MOONSPELL : MoonSpell is currently finishing up their composition work for their fifth album. Megadeth's new album "The World Needs A Hero" will be released on the 14th of May 2001. This album is supposed to be a return to the old 'rust in peace'-'countdown to extinction' songwriting style. Well, without Marty Friedman on guitars... I dubious. By the way, the World already has heroes such as Matze, Maggy and I... :P)
"Tokyo Showdown" is the name of Inflames's first live album. It will be released end spring/early summer of this year and will contains songs covering almost all their cds. By the way the band is currently on tour and is composing songs for the next studio release (not scheduled for the moment). Busy busy....
After Forever has just released a limited edition of their album "Prison of Desire". It's a blue colordisc (1.000 copies).
Nightwish will release a 'mini'-cd called "Over The Hills And Far Away" on June 25th. Tracklist: 1. Over The Hills And Far Away (a Gary Moore cover tune) 2. Tenth Man Down (new) 3. Away (new) 4. Astral Romance (re-recorded Nightwish classic) 5. The Kinslayer (live) 6. She Is My Sin (live) 7. Sacrament Of Wilderness (live) 8. Walking In The Air (live) 9. Beauty & the Beast (live) 10. Wishmaster (live) Tarja loves us... lololol. I really hope Tuomas doesn't sing on "astral romance"... or maybe he has been given lessons... We'll see.
Aaron of the official Annihilator website has conducted an interview with Randy Black, talking with their old & new drummer about his musical past, the equipment he uses and several other interesting things. :) Read it here.
