from the Nuclear Blast newsletter: PRIMAL FEAR Important news for all fans that receive the german TV channel VIVAplus, PRIMAL FEAR will have a big feature on the 6th of June (10 pm) in the "Rock" show. The feature will be broadcasted again the 11th June at 11 pm. You may win a signed guitar there! And don't forget, you still can participate in our online-Primal Fear competition as well! http://www.nuclearblast.de/events/primal-competition MANOWAR Speaking about competitions, of course you also still can win a guitar signed by Manowar. To enter, just follow the link: http://www.nuclearblast.de/events/manowar-competition Some news from the Kings Of Metal: While the hitsingle "Warriors Of The World United" moves to #23 in the official German charts - after beeing in the Top 20 for four weeks - the brandnew and longawaited album "Warriors Of The World" by MANOWAR has hit the streets this Monday with a boom and instantly got great reaction from the fans and also at press and retail. Fans where cueing up all over Europe to get the record. As a result, the album sold this monday more copies than the new Eminem (or whatever this guy is called?), putting it to the pole position of the german trend charts. This means, if all Manowar-fans continue their tremendous support, the album might become #1 in the official german album charts next week!!

News from Jeff Witzeman and the Jealous Housewives: Hi, It’s been a while since we’ve said hello, and we’re oh so sorry, so here’s the latest. Our new album, “Oh My God,” is finished and will be released this summer. You can hear and get a copy of the new album at www.jealoushousewives.com. (It sounds reeeeeeeeeally good.) We’re just waiting on a handful of labels to make up their minds on whether or not they want to run with it. If they don’t we’ll just pick a distributor and launch it ourselves. So far on our team is Magic Johnson’s publicist and Lenny Kravitz’s promo guy so we’re looking forward to making a big splash. The CD release party and next show should be at The Troubadour in Los Angeles at the end of June, so we’ll keep you posted. And now for the REALLY fun news. We’re in the finals of a web contest on a site called www.makeastar.com. If we win we get a licensing deal (worth $) and the chance to be called a “star.” Now how cool is that? Here, we were thinking you had to sell a million albums or maybe get your own tv series, but no, it’s all possible on the worldwide web. If we should fail, we’ll have to audition for survivor or some other reality show, because stardom and 15 minutes of fame is all the rage these days and frankly that’s all we ever wanted . . . (wink, wink). So, now here’s how YOU TOO can participate in the madness. If you go to the site, you can vote on the two songs in the finals (ours and some english girl). And if you vote, you are elgible to win stuff, so you won’t just be helping us out, but garnering huge rewards for yourself both now and in the afterlife. So please, go to the site and vote for the housewives and help us fulfill our shallow, comprimising dream of being stars. (all afterlife promises subject to prior validation and cannot be confirmed.) Thanks. Cheers, Jeff I've known Jeff and his music for quite awhile now. Darn good stuff. There's MP3s out on various places. I'm awaiting the new CD, and I'll for sure have a review up here soon as it comes. Wasail! -Ed

We remain on 1560AM, but for anyone who is more that a couple blocks away from the station, you're out of luck, until June 20th. Penny Radio will still operate, and be ultra super righteous, but only for those people on campus. My apologies to everyone who stayed up to listen and were disapointed. The fight for true Music will continue... Death to the False Ones! Death to the Monied Interests! Death to Hamburger Music Makers! Peace, Ed "DJ Pax" Graham
In an effort to demonstrate responsibility to the children of the world, Ed has put off both food and studying for tomorrows midterm in order to bring you an indepth review of the new Manowar album. Tom Waits has released his new albums 'Alice' and 'Blood Money' on May 7th. "Alice, once dubbed "the lost Tom Waits masterpiece" by the press, was originally done as an avant-garde opera directed by Robert Wilson for Hamburg's Thalia Theater in the winter of 1992. "Alice" was based loosely on Lewis Carroll's obsession with young Alice Liddell, the girl who inspired his Alice in Wonderland and Through The Looking Glass. Working with Brennan, they wrote fifteen songs for the Wilson opera in the summer of 1992. The Thalia performed "Alice" for eighteen months, with an eclectic orchestra of Waits' design, but the composers did not record the songs until last summer (along with his forthcoming simultaneous new release, Blood Money)." "Blood Money is a new collection of thirteen songs originally written and produced by Waits and longtime collaborator and wife Kathleen Brennan." "Blood Money is based on the socio/political play "Woyzeck," originally written by a young German poet Georg Buchner as a spare, cinematic piece in 1837 and inspired by the true story of a German soldier who was driven mad by bizarre army medical experiments and infidelity, which led him to murder his lover. Waits and Brennan wrote songs for an avant-garde production of "Woyzeck" directed by Robert Wilson. "Woyzeck" premiered in November, 2000 at the Betty Nansen Theater in Copenhagen and went on to win Denmark's version of the Tony for Best Musical last year. The Danish production has toured extensively in Europe to sold-out houses and wide acclaim and comes to New York and Los Angeles this fall." [source: Anti Records] Mp3 clips of 'Alice' (from Alice) and 'Another Man's Vine' (from Blood Money) can be downloaded here and here respectively.
Although the release of this album is set for July 22, here, on Penny Dreadful you can already check out the review on it. Yes, we rock, I know... ;)

Hi Everyone....and welcome to the up-to-date news from DEMOLITION !! It has now been confirmed that the band will be playing this year's Milwaukee Metalfest, to be held on the 26th & 27th July 2002. This will be the bands first chance to perform in the US and they're are all looking forward to getting out there and introducing their US friends to the concept of the 'Jig Pit'. The band are also trying to organize a few smaller club shows to coincide with our trip to the Metalfest but nothing is confirmed as yet. Details are still been finalised as to which day we will play at the event so keep checking this site for further info. Keeping to the bands tradition of recording and releasing at least one album a year, work is well under way on the new songs for the next album. The bands plan is to get into the studio in late July early August to start laying the backing tracks down for the, so far untitled album.Watch out for a late Autum release. Dynamo show - Houdoe En Bedankt Festival To a lot of us it will be the end of an era as the now legendary Dynamo Club will soon be demolished in the name of progress. To commemorate this, the organisers at the club have planned a free outdoor festival show on Saturday 15th June 2002, to be held in the car park to the front of the Dynamo Club, which was also the site of the very first 'Dynamo Open Air Festival' way back in 1985. As the band have played the Dynamo Club on numerous occasions over the years, the organisers have kindly asked them to perform at this very last show to mark the closing of the club. The bill so far is confirmed as Doro, Helstar, Skyclad, Rompeprop, Dew-Scented and Sinister. Proceedings will commence at 13.00 hrs and Skyclad will play at approximately 18.30 hrs. For those interested in making a weekend of this, there is also a warm-up party on the 14th in the Dynamo Club. It starts at 19.00 hrs with live bands Defect, Cretin, Aura, Sin, Megaseth/The Five Horsemen. If you would like more information about the show, the Dynamo has a website at www.dynamo666.com. Remember, for all you SKYCLAD fans who want up to the minute news, as well as discounted band goodies check the bands own website at www.skyclad.co.uk Currently, if you purchase the “No Daylights Nor Heeltaps” CD direct from the bands website, you not only get it for a discounted price of £9:00 you get an extra 5 track CD absolutely FREE!! On May 21, 2002, the Librarian of Congress, based upon the recommendation of the Register of Copyrights, issued an Order rejecting the Panel’s determination proposing rates and terms for these licenses. In such cases, the law provides that the Librarian shall issue his final determination within 30 days of his decision to reject the Panel’s proposed rates and terms. The final determination is due on June 20, 2002. edit Stéphane : Wow! But beware, the financial Empire may strikes back again... anyway we still have to see which sauce the librarian of Congress will put on the radio burger before eating us all... on the 20th of June 2002.

Sinergy will bring bassist Lauri Porra to join them for their tours this year. No official word yet if he will become a permanent replacement for Marco. Lauri has played on many albums as a hired musician as well as doing several tours with various bands. Kimberly met him when the 2 of them both performed on the WARMEN albums together. He already knows how to play all the songs and even Marco himself said he was an excellent player. Over the next 3½ weeks Kimberly will train both Lauri & Alexi to sing the backing vocals required for the tours before leaving for Korea. In the words of Queen, "The show must go on". source: www.sinergy.org

FINAL EUROPE SUMMER TOUR DATES Jul. 12 - BEL @ Dour Festival Jul. 13 - Bospop, NETH @ Festival Jul. 15 - Bochum, GER @ Matrix Jul. 16 - Utrecht, NETH @ Tivoli Jul. 18 - Cork, IRE @ The Savoy Jul. 19 - Dublin, IRE @ Music Centre Jul. 20 - Blackpool, UK @ Winter Gardens Jul. 21 - Glasgow, UK @ Garage Jul. 23 - London, UK @ Mean Fiddler Jul. 24 - Colchester, UK @ Arts Centre Jul. 26 - Montcofa, SPA @ Rock Machina Fest [...] Now the number one question...What's up with the band? We've had, and continue to have many discussions on how or if we are going forward. There are seven projects that we are presently working on and are in various stages of completion. Most of these will probably never be released. It may surprise you to know that the majority of projects we do have never been heard and never will. In the recent past some projects were mentioned and created interest and curiosity, and although we've decided not to release them, we still get people asking for copies etc, and we cant do that, sorry. Therefore of the seven projects we'll just say two are possible new ST CDs. And hopefully one will be released in the fall. And of course, if and when the status of any the projects changes, we'll let you know. We do hope to have more info before summer on some of these and Suicidal Records releases. Which leads to question number two...When you gonna tour? If we get a ST CD out this fall, we will probably start touring at that time in the states. Then in no order, we hope to go back and do a proper tour of Europe, South America and Australia, New Zealand and Japan. Question number three...Who's in the band? MIKE MUIR VOCALS MIKE CLARK GUITAR DEAN PLEASANTS GUITAR RON BRUNNER JR. DRUMS STEVE BRUNNER BASS For more info check out www.suicidaltendencies.com source: www.suicidaltendencies.com, blabbermouth.net
