Good messages for all ANNIHILATOR fans. Jeff Waters surprisingly indicated that "carnival diabolous" 's successor will already reach the stores in spring. Furthermore he announced he wrote the fastest and hardest riffs in the entire ANNIHILATOR career and that Joe Comeau contributed some texts again.

Andy Ritson sent in the following: "Swords of a thousand men, Skyclads new single featuring the legendary Eddie Tudor is due for release at the end of October. The new album is on its way and the band are in Germany next weekend for a festival with new drummer. The single is an absolute blast and has a Skyclad mix as well as the Tudor version. A huge bonus is The Widdershins Jig 2001 mix, seriously brilliant. The Clad never went away really, they just bided their time and now they're really going to melt some ears!"

Because of the unstable political situation Flotsam And Jetsam decided not to go to Europe but stay home instead. Right now I've got two questions: 1. Do you, guys, REALLY think that it's safer in United States now? and 2. What's that smell?? Is it chicken???? :) Edit Matze: Savatage, Vicious Rumors and Symphony X have canceld their tour for the same reason...

OK, here's the thing: Finnish Power Metal sensation Sonata Arctica is putting out a couple of singles - Japanese and Finnish. The singles are: 'Black Sheep' (Jap) and 'Last Drop Falls' (Fin). Both have a cover of IRON MAIDEN's 'Die With Your Boots On' and an acoustic version of 'Mary-Lou'. But the Japanese disc features a second cover, Bette Midler's 'The Wind Beneath My Wings', from the film Beaches. Have to add that the band recorded both gigs in Tokyo, on September 3rd & 4th, and now is planning to put out a live album. Hope you got it. Because I didn't.

Septic Flesh, after a long period of negotiations with various metal labels, has reached to an agreement with EMI records for the release of their next three albums. The material for the forthcoming release will be recorded once again in Fredman studios in Sweden with Fredrik Nordstrom on the chair of the producer, as the band was very pleased with the result of Revolution DNA. The new, untitled yet, album will be released between the end of December 2001 and the first months of 2002. The return of the dreamlords will be the most dark, atmospheric and violent moment of their carrier.
The new Brainstorm album called Metus Mortis will be released in October 30.. New submitted by Tiago "blue horse"
Terrible coincidence on the Dream Theater live album cover..it was released in the same terrible day..with the same terrible image of the World Trade Center burning!!..The album was removed from the stores just after the tragedy..and it´s only avalaible on some net cd stores now... New submitted by Tiago "Blue Horse" Edit Max: Here's a note from Mike Portnoy, the drummer of the band, that could be found on the official site of Dream Theater: "In regard to the live album's cover art, I can only say that it is a horrible coincidence that we obviously could have never foreseen. The timing of the release of the CD happening on the very same day as this tragedy is merely an incredible coincidence. We are currently in discussions with the label as to whether or not we will recall the CD's and replace them with a different cover. Obviously, the recovery of everybody's personal lives here in New York is the first priority."
The interview with the guitar-virtuoso Victor Smolski from German RAGE has been added into "INTER-active-VIEWS" section. Thanx, Max :) Edit Matze: Just noticed over at the official Rage homepage that the band has signed a new record deal with SPV Hannover.

Metal Merchant yesterday put the following infomation online: Monday October 22nd sees DEMOLITION release the first single from the new shape SKYCLAD. “Swords of a Thousand Men” (DEMCDS 001B), originally recorded by Tenpole Tudor in 1981, features new vocalist KEVIN RIDLEY, who takes over from the now departed Martin Walkyier. The song, also featured as a bonus track on their last studio album “Folkemon” (with Martin on vocals), gained more than favourable reactions during the band’s recent appearances (which included several shows with FISH). So much so that, having reached the approving ears of Tenpole Tudor mainman EDDIE TENPOLE,the obvious route was to take things a step further and invite Eddie to guest on the track. “Swords…” is accompanied by a reworked version of “The Widdershins Jig”, a SKYCLAD standard that showcase’s the bands progression over the last few years. Both tracks are taken from the band’s new album “No Daylights... Nor Heeltaps” (due for release November 2001), which is a collection of reworked SKYCLAD favourites, inspired by their successful stints of “unplugged” shows across Europe. SKYCLAD begin “The Same but Different” tour with the following dates in October: Schloss Glauchau, Orkus Herbsnachte Festival (6th) Hamburg, Headbangers Ballroom (19th) Bad Salzungen, Kalle Werk (20th) Essen Musikpalette (21st) Nurnberg, Hirsch (23rd) Stuttgart, Limelight (24th) Karlsruhe, Substage (25th) Offenbach, Hafenbahn (26th) Pratteln, Z7 (27th) in Switzerland Looks like a good few months for all the Cladheads out there, with a live album this month, single in October and the much anticipated album of re-worked tracks for November.

From total Rock.com It seems Dave Mustaine has been in touch with james Hetfield and Lars Ulrich to create a new band alongside Megadeth's bassist Dave Elleffson. hope if they unite they will rather do a mix of rust in peace/countdown to extinction/master of puppets thing instead of a risk/load shit.
